Junot Diaz’s latest, This is How You Lose Her, is worth your time and attention. Like Zachary Mason’s The Lost Books of the Odyssey, which I loved, Diaz has a way with putting the right words in the right order. Its genius is in its unsaid call to action: call your ex and forget that in the world outside books there’s nothing beautiful or noble in longing.
